JOB DESCRIPTION
POSITION: PRODUCT MANAGER – DIGITAL SAVINGS

JOB OBJECTIVES:
He/She will champion our Digital Savings Product Team as we develop, identify opportunities,
build digital solutions, and grow our digital savings offerings in the Fintech Space. The
candidate will be a highly skilled market analyst with a proven ability to strategize the full
lifecycle of product production — from conception through release. He/She is a confident leader
who has experience guiding cross-functional teams in the successful creation of products that
improve consumer experience and grow market share.
Reporting line is to the Director, Digital Financial Services.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
The specific and general functions are shown below:
Strategy and Planning
 Develop the vision and strategy for allocated products, considering the trends in the industry
both globally and locally to enable the attainment of the business objectives, working closely
with Product Owners and stakeholders across Engineering, Business Development,
Marketing, Operations, Support and Strategy and communicate the vision and strategy
clearly and obtain buy-in.
 Research and stay abreast of advancements in the industry and other economic factors to
enable the product to remain ahead of competitors in terms of product innovation.
 Create a roadmap, aligned to the product strategy, and conduct periodic progress reviews to
support the alignment of stakeholders towards a common goal and to drive the execution of
the strategy.
 Oversee the management of the entire product lifecycle of a portfolio of products, to support
the growth and success of the products.

 Enable the team to deliver by providing technical guidance, coaching, development, and
feedback to ensure that they can deliver the required quality while also contributing to their
engagement.
 Conduct regular market/user research (VOC) to identify and validate market trends in the
bulk e-payments and collections space and/or problems to be solved.
 Develop sound business cases for new and existing e-payment products and/or features.
 Create and maintain the Feature/Program backlog.
 Create the product roadmap/key milestones and obtain buy-in among key stakeholders.
 Work with external and/or internal customers to clarify product requirements.
 Coordinate Feature/Program backlog refinement activities with key stakeholders across
Engineering, Business Development, Operations and others at Program level.
 Design and document feature process flows, clear user stories and acceptance criteria for
agreed/prioritized product features (New Features, Improvements, Bug Fixes) working
closely with the Product Owner.
 Work closely with Product UX Designers to develop well-researched product UX designs.
 Communicate user stories and acceptance criteria to the Agile team and ensure proper
understanding.
 Work closely with Agile team(s) and external customers as needed, to deliver prioritized
deliverables in line with the Scaled Agile Framework.
 Define and monitor product performance metrics throughout the product lifecycle; analyze
and interpret product data and formulate necessary proactive adaptation strategies.
 Coordinate and work with required stakeholders throughout the product discovery,
development and go-live process, in line with the Scaled Agile Framework. This also covers
post go-live product operationalization and bug fixes, if any.
 Ensure quality product documentation (Product Books, Product Requirement Documents,
User guides, manuals, sales collaterals, etc.).
 Work closely with Marketing to launch new products and/or new product features when
required.
 Develop product presentations and deliver to intended stakeholders, as required.
 Collate and deliver product deliverable progress update reports at the defined cadence.
 Work closely with the Customer Support and Marketing teams to draft and send out
communiques to Partners and Customers as required.
 Regularly research, analyse and interpret competitor trends and performance/data.
 Stay up to date with the policies/circulars of the Central Bank of Nigeria and ensure that e-
payment products/features are developed/delivered in compliance.
 Participate fully in company activities at team level and companywide.
 Any other Product Management duties assigned by your Line Manager.

EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS:
The minimum entry requirement for this role is:

Education – A Bachelor’s Degree in any field, Post Graduate Degree will be an added
advantage.
Experience- Minimum of 4 years or more in product management/related role with a strong
track record of execution alongside certifications in product management.
Skill, Knowledge and Abilities
 Strong analytical, prioritization, and negotiating skills
 An understanding of trends and the ability to respond to customers’ wishes
 Ability to think strategically and be proactive.
 Strong Leadership skills
 Strong team working skills.
 Ability to manage allocated budgets.
 Strong written and verbal communication skills
 Deep experience and an understanding of market research
 Time and Project Management skills, including the ability to work on multiple projects at
the same time.
 Ability to manage and ensure healthiness of product portfolio.
 Data analytics and good reporting skills
 Strong interpersonal skills
 Must be curious, optimistic, and energetic.
 Must be proficient in Microsoft Office applications
 Display in-depth knowledge about product users and industry.
