Responsible for the overall management and administration of the college, a co-educational secondary school in Ile-Ife, Osun State. The Head of School will provide strategic leadership, foster an environment of academic excellence, oversee staff development, ensure effective communication and marketing, and manage the overall well-being of students and staff.
Key Responsibilities:
· Develop and communicate a clear vision and mission for the school’s educational and cultural development.
· Provide strategic direction and inspire a culture of continuous improvement among staff, students, and stakeholders.
· Foster a positive and collaborative school climate that promotes innovation and student success.
· Oversee the development and implementation of a rigorous and comprehensive curriculum aligned with national and international standards.
· Monitor and evaluate the quality of teaching and learning to ensure academic excellence and student achievement.
· Implement effective assessment and evaluation practices to measure student progress.
· Create a supportive and inclusive school environment that promotes the social, emotional, and mental well-being of students.
· Implement effective pastoral care programs to address student needs and concerns.
· Collaborate with staff and parents to ensure a safe and nurturing learning environment.
· Provide leadership and support for the professional growth and development of teaching and non-teaching staff.
· Coordinate and facilitate professional development workshops, seminars, and training opportunities.
· Encourage innovation and best practices in teaching and school management.
· Develop and execute strategies to effectively communicate with parents, students, staff, and the broader community.
· Oversee marketing initiatives to promote the school’s strengths, achievements, and programs.
· Maintain a strong online and offline presence to engage stakeholders and attract prospective students.
· Manage the day-to-day operations of the school, including budgeting, financial management, and resource allocation.
· Ensure compliance with relevant educational regulations, policies, and standards.
· Maintain accurate and comprehensive records related to students, staff, and school activities.
· Build and nurture positive relationships with parents, community leaders, and other stakeholders.
· Collaborate with external organizations and partners to enhance educational opportunities for students.
Qualifications and Experience:
· A Master’s degree in Education or a related field
· Proven experience in educational leadership, preferably as a Principal or Head of School. Proven record as deputy head of school also acceptable
· Strong understanding of curriculum development, pedagogical approaches, and educational best practices.
· Excellent communication, interpersonal, and conflict resolution skills.
· Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate, and develop a diverse team of educators and support staff.
· Knowledge of educational technology and its integration into teaching and learning.
· Familiarity with relevant educational regulations and standards.
